Review from Buxton Film Festival 2014

‘This is a simple and eloquent film in which Callum Arnott and the director give a lesson in storytelling and acting that can scarcely be bettered. The director uses colour tone and light to contrast the moods of the story – the bright colours of romance and the sepia gloom of depression and disappointment contrasting with the bright neutral greys of the central cafe scene around which the story is hung. Callum’s face is an encyclopaedia of subtly differentiated emotions that almost obviate the need for dialogue. There are small moments which are laugh out loud funny, touches of pathos and joy which take the viewer on a journey with our hero to… redemption?’
